Dismantling and installation of wood paneling, imitation timber, planken, block house.

Often the question of redevelopment, changing the finish arises, or cases when the exterior or interior sheathing of a wooden house requires installation or dismantling and replacement of finishing materials. In this case, proper installation of wooden facing materials is required, which requires the contractor to have certain theoretical knowledge and practical skills in this area.

Finishing materials used for exterior and interior finishing differ slightly in their configurations. First of all, this concerns the thickness, or rather the ratio of width and thickness. This is due to the fact that the warping of lumber (bending and twisting in the form of a propeller along the length and bending like a "boat" along the width), which is caused by the influence of moisture and temperature changes on the wood, directly depends on the width-to-thickness ratio. According to the standards, for wood finishing materials for outdoor use, the minimum thickness-to-width ratio should be approximately 1:5, i.e., thickness – 32 mm, width – 140 mm, but in practice these ratios are often 1:7. For indoor use, this norm is lower and in practice is approximately 1:10. This is due to the fact that the humidity inside living spaces is always significantly lower than outside, and does not have such fluctuations, therefore it does not exert such a significant load on the tree.

There are the following main types of wood finishing materials:

  • wood paneling or imitation timber paneling;
  • "Euro-profile" paneling or Euro-lining;
  • imitation timber or false timber;
  • block house;
  • planken.
Important to know! It is worth avoiding the operation of living spaces in the absence of heating during periods when the temperature drops below approximately 10 degrees, because due to high humidity, the finish made of wood paneling can swell and disrupt the geometry.

Wood paneling and Euro-profile paneling are primarily used for the interior decoration of living spaces. Outside, they can often be used for filing the roofs of terraces, gazebos, awnings, as well as roof overhangs. Imitation timber and block house, which give the wall the appearance of a profiled or rounded timber wall when finished, are mainly used for finishing exterior walls and, less commonly, ceilings and filing of roof overhangs.

As a separate finishing material, planken is worth noting, which is a board beveled at both ends, and therefore has a slightly different installation method. It gained popularity relatively recently. It is used for exterior finishing of facades and filing of roof overhangs. Its advantage is its geometry, which has no grooves and tenons, so during installation it is possible to make gaps between the lamellas, thereby allowing air to circulate over the entire surface area. Thus, the facade of the building becomes ventilated, which favorably affects its durability and operation.

Also, recently, finishing materials made of thermally modified wood have become widespread, the processing methods of which differ from the processing method of simple wood. The tree becomes practically not subject to moisture absorption, fungus and mold develop poorly on it, and it does not change its geometry during exposure to negative factors.

How we work: stages of work

01

Measurement and inspection

Inspection of the surface for installation / dismantling regarding the fastening method. Measurements, calculations.

02

Lathing preparation

Preparation of materials for lathing: cutting to size, treatment with antiseptic or fire retardant.

03

Preparation for installation

Dismantling (if performed), preparation of mounting seats, arrangement of lathing and its preparation for installation or.

04

Material preparation

Cutting to size and painting of the finishing material depending on the painting scheme chosen by the customer.

05

Finish installation

Installation of the finishing material. Tinting of joints, chipped areas, filling, finishing touches.

06

Cleaning and delivery

Cleaning: removal of film, masking tape, dry cleaning. Delivery to the customer according to the conditions.

Very important!!! During operation, finishing elements can swell or, conversely, diverge from each other, creating a wave or unacceptable gaps. This may be due to either poor manufacturing quality of the finishing lumber, primarily insufficient drying, or improper installation with small gaps for expansion or vice versa.

Approximate cost of installation and repair services for finishing:
